This section is for advanced users.

The main idea of Poormans is: A professional realizes the needs of a common user in Poormans. The following steps are neccessary:

  1. Create a new site in Poormans. It generates all basic files and settings.
  2. Adapt the layout.html (and for sure the format.css) to the coperated design.
  3. Write a template for each different page type.
  4. Adapt/write macros e.g. for generating menus and galleries.
  5. Adapt the configuration of the WYSIWYG editor. Here, special format needs of the user can be realized with ’stiles’.

Now, the user get a peace of software (poormans), which is adapted to his special needs. The functionality is very basic and easy to learn. The user just has to produce content, now!

Have a detailed look to the demo site. There you can find all the basics you need!

That's the big picture. For a closer look, refere the sections on the left hand.

Admin view

Since version 2 an admin view is introduced. For activating this mode Poorman has to start with this command line: java -jar start.jar admin

In the admin mode you can easily create/update/delete templates and macros. This is a really useful feature, if you are on-site a client and you have to do some quick changes.
